Showcasing our growing array of Maverick solar farms across Australia

The Maverick Solution

Smithfield, Sydney NSW

  • Install date: 2018
  • Capacity: 120 kW – 9 MAVs
  • 5B scope: MAV DC array
  • Deployment Time: 1 day, team of 3

5B supplied and deployed this Maverick solar farm for an established, Sydney-based solar installer and electrician. Our customer included the Maverick ground mounts as part of a solar farm that will supply 100% of the power for their client’s manufacturing site during daylight hours, eliminating 300 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually and generating 395 MWh’s of electricity per year. Our customer is now able to deliver more profitable solar farm projects with 5B due to the simplified design process, lower project costs and a simplified supply chain.

Scone, NSW

  • Install date: July 2017
  • Capacity: 98 kW, 9 MAVs
  • 5B scope: MAV DC array
  • Deployment Time: 2 days, team of 3
  • Inverter: SMA SB 5000TL

5B supplied and deployed this Maverick solar farm for an established, Sydney-based solar installer and electrician. Our customer was able to offer his client a cost-competitive, ground-mount solar farm to power his grid-connected home. Our customer is now able to deliver more profitable solar farm projects with 5B due to the simplified design process, lower project costs and a simplified supply chain.

Pokolbin, NSW

  • Install date: June 2017
  • Capacity: 89kW, 8 MAVs
  • 5B scope: Turnkey solar farm
  • Deployment time: 2 days, team of 3
  • Inverter: SMA STP 25000 TL-30

This Maverick solar farm is connected to our customer’s farm. It provides behind-the-meter power and receives a feed-in tariff for excess, exported power.

Robertson, NSW

  • Install date: June 2017
  • Capacity: 36 kW, 3 MAVs
  • 5B scope: Turnkey solar farm
  • Deployment time: 2 days, team 0f 3
  • Inverter: SMA STP 25000 TL-30

This behind-the-meter Maverick solar farm provides power to our customer’s property, including multiple household, office and workshop loads.  Excess power is exported under a solar feed-in tariff. 5B’s customer will benefit from lower energy bills and has an exciting, cutting-edge solar farm on his property with a very low visual impact.

Gidgegannup, WA

  • Install date: July 2017
  • Capacity: 36 kW, 3 MAVs
  • 5B scope: Turnkey solar farm
  • Deployment time: 1 day, team of 2
  • Inverter: SMA STP 25000 TL-30

This Maverick solar farm provides power to our customer under a competitive PPA that delivers savings versus grid alternatives. The customer has the option to purchase our Maverick system after one, two or five years. If the customer’s needs change, 5B can relocate the MAVs to another site after one year.

Mittagong, NSW

  • Install date: November 2016
  • Capacity: 26 kW, 2 MAVs
  • 5B scope: Turnkey solar farm
  • Deployment time: As little as 15 minutes, team of 2
  • Inverter: SMA Sunny Box 5000TL

Our very first Maverick solar farm provides behind-the-meter power to the on-site loads of this industrial customer. 5B and the customer have plans to expand this project with additional Maverick deployments to offset diesel use within the company’s mini-grids. We undertook accelerated lifecycle testing on this array, redeploying one MAV 80 times with no measurable reduction in power output, versus the control.

Gannawarra, VIC

  • Install date: August 2017
  • Capacity: 22 kW, 2 MAVs
  • 5B scope: MAV DC array,  inverter and inverter stand
  • Deployment time: 1 morning, team of 2
  • Inverter: Fronius Eco 25

The Gannawarra was a joint project with Green Power Solutions where 5B provided two Mavericks to feed into a solar battery, biodiesel, hybrid mini-grid.

5B deployed the Maverick system in a single morning with a two-person team, ready to provide power to the construction site. The hybrid system has been provided under an operating lease representing a world first in flexible solar site power.
